According to Ayurveda, all matter is thought to he composed of five basic
elements known as the
Panchamahabhuthas - Earth (Prithvi), Water (Jala), Fire (Tejas), Wind
(Vayu) and Space (Akasha).
These elements interact and exists in combination, in which one or more
elements dominate.
The human body is composed of derivatives of these five basic elements,
in the form of doshas,
tissues (dhatus) and waste products (malas). The Panchmahabhutas therefore
serve as the foundation
of all diagnosis and treatment modalities in Ayurveda.
Secrets of Ayurveda
Panchakarma (Virechana / Vasti / Vamana / Nasya / Rakshamoktha).
This five-fold purification therapy aims at correcting the imbalance
of the body's Doshas or bio energies
(Vata, Pitta and Kapha) in order to maintain their inherent equilibrium
and Ama,
which forms as a result. Panchakarma therapy has three main stages :
Poorvakarma, Pradhanakarma and Paschatkarma.
Poorvakarma, the first stage, comprises essential preliminary procedures
for preparing the body to unload stored toxins.
The treatments help to loosen Ama (toxins) and move it out to the deep
structures into the gastro-intestinal tract,
where Panchakarma's cleaning therapies can then eliminate it.
Wellness and Anti stress
Stress has physical and emotional effects on us and may have negative
influences, resulting in feelings
of distrust, rejection, anger, and depression, which in turn can lead
to health
problems such as headaches, upset stomach, rashes, insomnia, ulcers,
high blood pressure, heart disease, and stroke.
While stress reduction assumes that we must first incur the stress and
then figure out a
way to reduce it, stress prevention is a way of life that doesn't require
a huge time commitment and
aims not to allow stress to affect us in the first place.
While our modern world has disconnected us from these natural cycles
Ayurveda, on the other hand,
suggests a lifestyle in harmony with nature.
Once you experience what it is like to live with the nature's rhythm,
it becomes a way of life and reduces stress.
In our hectic lifestyle we not only relax our body-mind, but also learn
the techniques
to fight the stress of daily life under challenging circumstances.
Nature has daily cycles as well as seasonal cycles that we must follow
to prevent stress
where each season offers the human body an opportunity for stress relief
and rejuvenation.
Weight Loss
In Ayurveda underweight and overweight are signs of any imbalance of
system and indicating erratic lifestyle.
This can happen irrespective of how much or how little food you eat but
how you maintain your behaviour and food pattern.
Health problems related to weight normally arise with your uncontrolled
food intake,
improper digestion or metabolism and unmanaged energy consumption.
Overweight or obesity is mostly found in people with predominantly kapha-type
constitutions and having a sedentary lifestyle.
When these people suffer from poor digestion and low digestive fire food
is not
processed properly in turn, it can result in weight gain or obesity.
Beauty Care
As a holistic health science Ayurveda relates to every aspect of the
mind, body and the soul,
it considers beauty as an intimate part of the human personality.
Ayurveda beauty care deals with overall well being of the body, including
skin care, hair growth, eye sight, hands and nail care.
The best part of this holistic program is removing all the toxic wastes
from the body
and uplifting the purification process which lays emphasis on internal
beauty.
Since there is a sense of mental peace and tranquility which is reflected
by the appearance disguised with cosmetics.
